ITTT course videos

The videos here are designed to be used with the ITTT online TEFL/TESOL courses, and are not intended to be used in isolation.

1 – ESA demonstration class 1

This is the first of two contrasting videos that have been filmed in an actual English language classroom, using real students of English. This video shows a grammar lesson where the students appear to have trouble with the lesson content. While watching this lesson you should take note of why you think the students are finding the lesson difficult, particularly focusing on things such as the teacher’s attitude, manner and teaching style, as well as the lesson structure and content. Also take note of how you felt watching the lesson and how you might have felt if you were a student in the classroom.

This video supports the materials in the Video lessons unit of your course, and should be viewed in conjunction with the next video, ‘ESA demonstration class 2’.

2 – ESA demonstration class 2

Following on from the previous video, this video shows the same teacher presenting the same lesson subject to the same English language students. Throughout the lesson you should notice a significant difference in the atmosphere in the classroom, as well as a difference in the level of understanding amongst the class participants. While watching this video you should take note of any changes you notice in the teacher’s attitude and teaching style that affect the progress of the lesson, as well as how the lesson structure and content affect the student’s understanding.
