Pronunciation and Phonology in the EFL Classroom – Issues with the International Phonetic Alphabet

This series focuses on the topics of pronunciation and phonology in the EFL classroom. In this video, we talk about two main issues when working with the International Phonetic Alphabet. The first issue revolves around the fact that we are not concerned with how a word is traditionally spelled when using the phonemic alphabet. Rather, we focus on the sounds needed to correctly produce a sound.
