Pronunciation and Phonology in the EFL Classroom – “Oh” Sound

This series focuses on the topics of pronunciation and phonology in the EFL classroom. In this video, we talk about the “oh” sound as in go, show, dough, note and boat, for instance. All of these different spelling patterns produce the sound “oh”. However, there are many other words that have the same spelling patterns but do not produce the sound “oh”. This is where the phonemic alphabet comes in very handy.
